Welcome

Why create another concussion website?

It was my plan for many years. I’ve been delayed for various personal reasons and am finally at a point where I can set up the site and make everything public. This is the third site in my set: AllConcussion.com for all topics and specifically non-sports and return to work (RTW); HerConcussion.com for female concussions; and now this site to focus on males and concussion.

I’ve built this around the thought that recovering from concussion is akin to climbing a mountain. That’s based on my own prolonged recovery and my experience in climbing Mt. Adams in Washington State multiple times. Concussion recovery is a journey, sometimes a long one. Climbing a mountain is a journey, a long and arduous hike. Along the way, there are times to pause and soak in the surroundings. That’s what I’ll plan to create on this site.

Like all my sites, this will focus on helping concussees live their life to the fullest. I’ll provide supportive posts and information about research and reference materials related to concussions.

Examples of information to be covered here includes concussions related to organized team sports, additional sports such as cycling and triathlon, and information for adults dealing with life responsibilities due to concussion from any cause, and information for those of younger demographics.

For information related to studies and research, I will continue to read studies and any information, not just rely on what is provided via various outlets. My focus will be on providing accurate information as best I can.

There’s much to do and much to cover! Follow @HisConcussion on Twitter and Facebook as well and let’s have some convos there.

Thanks for dropping by!
